Codeminion releases six language versions of their highly successful flagship puzzler - Ancient Quest of Saqqarah. The localizations are fully featured with all the voiced parts being re-recorded.

November 17, 2008 - Independent studio Codeminion Codeminion releases six fully localized language versions of their flagship puzzler - Ancient Quest of Saqqarah, acclaimed by the casual game reviewers as one of the best games in the match-3 genre. The game is now available in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish and Polish languages.

The localization was conducted by Artifex Consultants and all versions are fully featured with all the voiced parts being re-recorded from scratch. "Good voice acting is crucial in Saqqarah for building the atmosphere and guiding the player through the game. We knew we have to re-record all the voices from scratch for the translation, if we want the players to fully experience the game" - explains Konrad Olesiewicz, game producer and Codeminion co-owner.

Codeminion says they have review copies available for any non-English outlets that would be interested in writing about the game. "We would like to reach people who were previously unable to play Saqqarah because of the language barrier. We would definitely be interested in casual-oriented websites that could present our games to a new audience".

Ancient Quest of Saqqarah is a large and highly successful casual puzzle game, described by GameZebo as "benchmark against which to score all future competition". It features over 500 levels spread across 7 different puzzle mechanics, with production values rarely seen in the casual games market. An expansion "SaqPack", doubling the amount of game's levels, is already available on the developer's website at the price of $10.

Saqqarah is the second downloadable game by Codeminion available in multiple language versions. The first one was StoneLoops! - a dynamic marble popper released in localized versions on July 1, 2008. Both games are available from the Codeminion website on a try-before-you-buy basis, at the price of $19.95.

Somersault is a new game, combining aspects of classic platform games with fresh gameplay elements and innovative new controls. Draw paddles with the mouse, to guide the hero - little Bally - through 21 action-packed levels in five different worlds.
All of Bally’s friends were kidnapped by the evil villain Shadow and now it is the players task to free his people and destroy the mechanical world. It’s the struggle between nature and man.

Somersault is playable on Mac and PC and can be downloaded from http://www.somersault-game.com. The full version costs 15 USD. Nintendo DS and iPhone conversions are planned.
The game was developed without any financial support.

Somersault is designed to be easy to learn, yet hard to master - it offers a quickly accessable gameplay and yet keeps being thrilling till the end. The increasing level of difficulty and the different unlockable worlds provide for much variety.

They found each other sharing the common interest for creating fun games which are outside of the mainstream.

The European Innovative Games Award
In the last few years, the games sector has turned into a driving force for the whole IT sector. Hardly any other sector has made such large steps forward in such a short time, both economically and technologically. The Hessian Ministry of Economics, Transport, Urban and Regional Development wants to encourage the development of innovative games and therefore offers the European Innovative Games Award (EIGA) in cooperation with the European Commission. For this purpose, both technology and content may be innovative.

The aim of the award is for one thing to reveal possible applications of the best innovative computer and video games and to award them the prize money of €35,000. For another thing, the award is to contribute to further international networking and therefore advance the games sector in Europe.

“World of Kung Fu” Martial Arts Online Game Gets Major Upgrade

[Shanghai, China, November 4th, 2008] VestGame Entertainment has announced a major upgrade to World of Kung Fu, the popular 3D MMO set in ancient China. The latest upgrade will see the addition of several major new systems, as well as new quests for higher level players, new mounts, and skill enhancements for all weapon classes.

The most significant new system in this upgrade is the Invasion System. Players will now be able to battle foreign enemies in one of two new event based scenarios. The first involves an invasion by hostile forces from outside the Middle Kingdom, and the other involves country-to-country battles that take place within. Both scenarios allow players the chance to gain reputation and other benefits such as game gold and items from the item mall.

Another system making its debut is the Transform System. This allows players to collect “transform cards” which enable them to transform into marvelous creatures and exciting special characters, such as the Monkey King. Players who undergo transformation get special new attacks and abilities while in the transformed state.

New mounts available to players include the Zhu Que (Giant Phoenix) and the ferocious fire lion known as Nian. Additional quests have been developed for levels 40-80 to enhance the enjoyment of more experienced players. Also, the weapons skills of all weapon classes have been improved and balanced. Nunchakus have been added to provide players with a quick attribute bonus.

A great many other, less visible gameplay elements have been tweaked and enhanced such as the item drop rate for slain monsters and changes to the tutor/apprentice system. The impetus for these changes was, as always, the World of Kung Fu team’s desire to provide the best possible gameplay experience for the large and growing worldwide community of World of Kung Fu players.
